Free Online Car Paint Simulator Built with WebGL

This browser-based 3D car color simulator lets users rotate car models, choose paint colors and customize individual parts without downloading any software. The demo runs online with Three.js and WebGL.

The same 3D configurator concept can be adapted for automotive websites, car dealerships, product configurators, shoes, bags, furniture, watches, perfume bottles and other customizable products.

How the 3D Car Color Simulator Works

The simulator loads .glb 3D model files using GLTFLoader from Three.js. Once the model is in the browser, OrbitControls allow full 360° rotation via mouse drag or touch swipe. Each painted section of the car is a separate mesh — clicking a part highlights it and lets you assign a new color from the palette.

All of this runs on the GPU via WebGL, which means smooth rendering without any plugin. The same technique is used in commercial car configurators by major automotive brands — this demo shows the core mechanics at a portfolio scale.

Business Use Cases for Similar 3D Web Experiences

A 3D car configurator is not only a visual demo. The same approach can be adapted for businesses that want customers to explore products online before making a decision.

Created by Cristina Geafar

I build AI automation tools, 3D websites, interactive product demos, and creative web experiences. This 3D car color simulator is one example of how WebGL and Three.js can be used to create browser-based experiences that feel more engaging than a static website.

My work focuses on practical AI tools, frontend development, 3D portfolio pages, and business-focused automations for clients who want modern digital experiences.
